Dornoch Model Flying Club
Welcome to the Dornoch Model Flying Club. This community based club, established in 2010 with the assistance of both The Highland Council and Dornoch Community Council, is affiliated to the British Model Flying Association (BMFA) who provide Insurance, advice and is run in accordance with their rules, guidelines and safety codes.
The Club has a User Agreement with The Highland Council to permit its Members to have legal use of the Dornoch Airfield. (N.B. Only Club Members or those with prior approval of The Highland Council are allowed to fly model aircraft at this airfield). Visiting aeromodellers are advised to contact the Club Secretary.
Being an operational airfield we advise our Members to use a ‘spotter’, in addition to which the club also uses an Air-band radio to assist in monitoring aircraft traffic in the area. Safety is the number one priority at the Airfield. A brief history of the airfield can be read https://dornochmfc.bmfa.uk/?page_id=255
The Club is open to all ages and skill levels as well as having a special Youth Group available to students of local schools and youth group organisations.
Club Meetings:-
Club flying sessions are held every Saturday at Dornoch Airfield from 10am and during the Summer every Wednesday evening from 6pm, when by prior arrangement, training can be offered. Ad hoc arrangements are made for flying sessions, on other days/times, by members contacting each other.
